We occupy a beautifully refurbished and spacious building on the grounds of The Presidio of San Francisco, just inside the 14th Avenue Gate at Lake Street. Our facility has an adjacent outdoor play area.

Directions To Lone Mountain Children's Center:

The link above gives directions to Lake Street and 14th Avenue. Once you reach 14th Avenue and Lake Street drive North on 14th Avenue into the Presidio. Take a Right at the first Stop sign onto Wedemeyer Street, then the next Left at Brown Street, and then the next Left at Hays Street, (adjacent to a large oval shaped field). Lone Mountain is to the Left of the field, the building has all glass on the lower level.

Welcome to Lone Mountain Children's Center

Lone Mountain Children's Center was established as private, non-profit preschool in 1974. We offer a developmental, theme-based preschool program for children age two years and seven months through five years and six months. During more than a quarter century, Lone Mountain has served scores of San Francisco children and their families. Lone Mountain was one of the first preschools in San Francisco to establish a transitional Pre-Kindergarten program for four and five year old children.

Our philosophy is to meet and accept each child as he or she comes to us.

We work to build on a child's developmental strengths, while giving special attention to those areas which are less strong.

We believe that when a child is provided the opportunity to preserve and enhance a positive sense of self, then the essential foundation for all learning and self-actualization has been established.

We strive to ensure that each child has a positive first school experience, and leaves us well prepared and eager to meet life's further adventures.
