EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR:
Jacque Grillo
Teacher and Director
Jacque is originally from north of Boston and has lived in San Francisco since 1977. He holds a BS degree in Human Development, with a specialty in Early Childhood, from the University of Massachusetts. Jacque also holds an MA in Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University. He holds both Massachusetts and California Teaching Credentials. His first teaching job was in a laboratory preschool at Harvard University. Jacque has taught at Lone Mountain since 1977. He is licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), and for the past twenty years has had a private counseling and psychotherapy practice. He has been the school’s Director for fifteen. For the past two years he has written articles on early childhood issues for the SavvySource web site.

Deborah Crosby
Teacher in All Classes
Deborah’s prior teaching experience includes three years at St. Luke’s Preschool in San Francisco, and fifteen years at the Rosenberg Center, a full-day, full-year program, where she was the Pre-K teacher and interim Director for a year. Deborah has taught at Lone Mountain for twelve years. Deborah offers a weekly Preacademics program in the Pre-K Class.
Cissy Harris
Teacher in All Classes
Cissy holds a BA degree from UC Berkeley in Art and History, and an Elementary Teaching Credential from San Francisco State University. She has taught previously in public and private schools in Marin and San Francisco. Cissy has taught at Lone Mountain since 1987, and teaches the Pre-K programs in Art, French and Drama.
Sophia Lau
Assistant Teacher in All Classes
Sophia attended San Jose State University and graduated with a BA in Child and Adolescent Development in May 2005. As a student at SJSU she worked as an assistant teacher at their Child Development Center. Before coming to Lone Mountain Sophia worked as a team teacher at Marin Day Schools/Bright Horizons in Foster City. Sophia has been at Lone Mountain for five years.
Ben Nadler
Assistant Teacher, Tu-Th and M-W-F Classes
Ben is a native of San Francisco and a certified ECE teacher. This is Ben's first year at Lone Mountain. His prior teaching experience was at the Marin Day Schools Webster Street campus in San Francisco. Ben has also taught snowboarding and skiing to both children and adults.
Maria Picar
Teacher in All Classes
Maria holds a Bachelor’s degree from San Francisco State University in Physical Education with a dance emphasis and has owned her own studio, Ingleside Creative Arts and After School Program, “The Arts Connection” for over ten years. She has worked as an After School Coordinator for International Studies Academy High School here in San Francisco, a reading Instructor for Mission Learning Center at Sanchez Elementary and more recently for Bright Horizons Day Care Center. Maria still teaches dance and choreography working with teens and children of all ages and also as an independent development associate for several non-profits in San Francisco. Maria was a teaching assistant for Lone Mountain from 1997-2003 and was also the Movement Instructor and piano player for school parties. Maria returned to Lone Mountain in 2007 as a full time teacher.

Camilla Barry
Science Teacher, Pre-K Class
Camilla has taught science and nature for the past twenty plus years in preschools and elementary schools in San Francisco and Marin. She has also been a frequent lecturer for organizations such as the California Science Teachers Association, the California Mathematics Council, and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. Camilla has also taught hands-on science to school children in Afghanistan, in a program she created after visiting schools there. Camilla has taught science at Lone Mountain for eight years.
Marci Briskin
My Gym Children's Fitness Center
Gymnastics Teacher, M-W-F and Pre-K Classes
Marci Briskin is the owner of My Gym Children's Fitness Center. She holds a BA from University of Wisconsin. She opened My Gym Children’s Fitness Center 6 1/2 years ago. Marci has offered weekly movement instruction at Lone Mountain since September 2010.
Andrew Skewes-Cox
Music Teacher, M-W-F and Pre-K Classes
Andrew has a degree in music from the University of California in Santa Cruz. He first taught summer school at Calvary Presbyterian Nursery School, before officially joining their faculty as Music Director. Andrew has also taught at the Jewish Community Center (JCCSF), and St. James Preschool, and as a children's entertainer. Andrew has taught at Lone Mountain for three years.
