Admissions Process
We’re delighted by your interest in joining the Lone Mountain community. All applications will be included in a random computer-generated drawing for the available spots after accommodating siblings and legacies.
There is a non-refundable application fee of $75.

By November 30 of the year prior to your desired admission, please submit your application.

Individual tours are offered by invitation based on the random application drawing and availability.

February
Following your tour, you’ll be invited to a classroom visit with your child.

You will be notified if we have a spot for your child. Families not offered a spot may choose to remain on the waitlist for future openings.

Birth Date Eligibility for the 2026-2027 School Year:
Tuesday–Thursday Program
Age in September: 2 years 7 months to 3 years 5 months
Birth Date Range: May, 2023 – End of February, 2024
Monday–Wednesday–Friday Program
Age in September: 3 years 6 months to 4 years 4 months
Birth Date Range: June 2022 – End of April, 2023Pre-Kindergarten Program
Age in September: 4 years 5 months to 5 years 4 months
Birth Date Range: June 2021 – End of May, 2022

Yes. Students are not required to complete all three years at Lone Mountain—we welcome new applicants at each program level. If you are applying for mid-program entry into the Monday–Wednesday–Friday or Pre-K classes, we encourage you to call us in the fall to discuss potential availability before submitting an application.

Yes, siblings and legacies are given first consideration. If your child is a LMCC Legacy or sibling, please call us prior to submitting an application.

Yes, we are a need blind school and offer financial assistance for tuition. Should you also need assistance with the application fee, please contact our office.

No, there is no advantage to applying earlier than the fall prior to entry.

You may apply online or download and mail your application along with a $75 check to Lone Mountain Children’s Center 1806 Belles Street, San Francisco, CA 94129. Checks should be made payable to Lone Mountain Children’s Center.
